Hello MaryAnn, Craigslist has been working very well for me and has been generating a lot of calls. The unfortunate thing about Craigslist is that they do not allow multiple commercial ads and will flag and delete you if you post too many times. Since I sell all over the country I would post an add in every city in the USA if possible but that is against their terms of service.
There is another free ad site, backpage.com that allows you to post commercial ads to as many cities as you want for a fee. I have done some testing with BackPage and it is working quite well. My concern about posting nation wide is what will this look like to the search engines?
For example, backpage.com has over 250 cities and I could post to all of them for around $300.00 per month. This is a real bargin since I have found from my testing this would pay off many times over.
My question is would there be any negative effects on my site from posting ads in over 250 cites. Would the search engines look at all of these links the same negative way as they would look at a link farm or look at it as being spammy. I certainly do not want to post the ads if they will have any negative effect on my site. If not I am going to get busy posting my ads and will I will keep you updated on the results of the backpage.com posting.

2. Experts Exchange is a knowledge base where programmers can exchange advice and views at www.expertsexchange.com. You've GOT to take a look at their favicon (the little picture in the browser bar)!
3. Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at www.penisland.net
4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at www.therapistfinder.com
5. The First Cumming Methodist Church Web site changed from cummingfirst.com to cummingfirstmethodist.com . Mmmm. Wonder why.
6. And the designers at Speed of Art await you at their wacky Web site, www.speedofart.com
