I'm considering paying for coaching

Hi MaryAnn:

I'm thinking about paying for coaching possibly next month. SBI now offers coaching on an hourly basis. How does your service differ from SBI's coaching? What advantages does your service have over SBI's? (I am assuming your business is independent of SBI)

Thanks,
Bob

SBI Coaching
by: MaryAnn

Bob,
You are right. My services are independent of SBI's coaching module. Since I am not part of that group, I cannot say just what they do or how they do it. I can, however, give you a notion of what I do.

I am a personal coach, helping people learn how to build websites with SBI from Day 2 all the way through monetization. We learn about Brainstormer, keywords, site blueprints, urls, templates, home pages, tiers, linking, images, and just a whole lot more. I don't count minutes. If it takes us one hour to finish, that's fine; and if it takes us a hundred hours, that's fine too. My job is to make sure you know the whole shebang. (It won't take 100 hours, but we won't make it in one hour either.)

Our sessions are geared to focusing on those skills that you need for your website. In each session I hook you up to my screen sharing program so that you are looking at my computer screen, and together we solve what needs to be solved, and learn what needs to be learned. At the end of each session you will go away with some more knowledge and a task to complete. When we meet again, we review and advance as fit.

We can finish the basics of website development in a few weeks, or we can take it step by step over several months, as you prefer. We can meet several times a week, or once a month, as it fits your schedule.

I would love to talk with you about the possibilities for your site. If you jot me a note again with your phone number, I'll be glad to give you a call and answer whatever questions you might have.

Best,
MaryAnn

If you've seen my posts in the Forums, you know that posting is one my favorite hobbies, and I've got -- well -- a lot now. The following post is my personal favorite. It actually was sent to me by my cousin, who has no idea at all that thousands of people have seen it here.

When people ask me whether to dash or not to dash their website, I usually give the example of "www.seniorsexpress.com" vs. "senior-sex-press.com" or "seniors-express.com". But I like these even better:

These are not made up. Check them out yourself!

1. Who Represents is where you can find the name of the agent that represents any celebrity. Their Web site is www.whorepresents.com

2. Experts Exchange is a knowledge base where programmers can exchange advice and views at www.expertsexchange.com. You've GOT to take a look at their favicon (the little picture in the browser bar)!

3. Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at www.penisland.net

4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at www.therapistfinder.com

5. The First Cumming Methodist Church Web site changed from cummingfirst.com to cummingfirstmethodist.com . Mmmm. Wonder why.

6. And the designers at Speed of Art await you at their wacky Web site, www.speedofart.com

Cheers!
MaryAnn
