How/Can I customize the SBI mailout manager look/feel?

Hi, MaryAnn -- I'm just beginning to implement an e-zine from my website (www.fauquiersbest.com) and I'd like to spiff it up a bit, like you have in your e-zine, with a customized header instead of SBI's standard plain vanilla header. Can you explain how one does this -- or point me to an SBI forum posting that explains how? Thanks! Yvonne

Ezine Customization
by: MaryAnn

Yvonne, it is both very easy and very challenging to customize the ezine. It is easy because all you have to do is create your 500 pixel wide image and upload in into Mailout Manager. When you click on "Mail to List", your form comes up, and you have the option of uploading your header. Once it is uploaded, it will be the default for all your ezine issues.

The hard part is that it has to be exactly 500 pixels wide. 499 won't do. And 501 won't do. You may need to get a graphic person to help you out with that sizing. Try the online re-sizing, or BimpLite for re-sizing and see if that works. If not, it may need someone who has Photoshop and can do precise re-sizing of images.

If you've seen my posts in the Forums, you know that posting is one my favorite hobbies, and I've got -- well -- a lot now. The following post is my personal favorite. It actually was sent to me by my cousin, who has no idea at all that thousands of people have seen it here.

When people ask me whether to dash or not to dash their website, I usually give the example of "www.seniorsexpress.com" vs. "senior-sex-press.com" or "seniors-express.com". But I like these even better:

These are not made up. Check them out yourself!

1. Who Represents is where you can find the name of the agent that represents any celebrity. Their Web site is www.whorepresents.com

2. Experts Exchange is a knowledge base where programmers can exchange advice and views at www.expertsexchange.com. You've GOT to take a look at their favicon (the little picture in the browser bar)!

3. Looking for a pen? Look no further than Pen Island at www.penisland.net

4. Need a therapist? Try Therapist Finder at www.therapistfinder.com

5. The First Cumming Methodist Church Web site changed from cummingfirst.com to cummingfirstmethodist.com . Mmmm. Wonder why.

6. And the designers at Speed of Art await you at their wacky Web site, www.speedofart.com

Cheers!
MaryAnn
