"How Do You Create Your Own Website Online?"

Can you even create your own website online?  Or is that something that someone else has to do?

Well, not only is it possible, but thousands of people do it every single day, very successfully.  The key to the answer is actually in your question.

"YOUR OWN".  This means something that belongs to you, something that you have created, and something that you will benefit from.  This is NOT some fancy, smanchy site that someone else creates and sells to you for many thousands of dollars.  No, this is YOUR SITE.

"Your" also means that the content is yours.  What you write about on your website is something that you personally know about.  You wouldn't, for example, write about thoroughbred racing horses if, like me, you didn't know a silly thing about them. 

When you create your own website online, you are creating a resource for someone else, about something that you know.  It is easy to fall into the trap of thinking that all the good topics are already taken.  And in a sense that is true.  There are millions of websites on millions of topics.  But you can still create a great site yourself!  Honest.   But look at gardening.  If you go into your local bookstore you will likely find shelf after shelf of gardening books.  But if you go back next year, or even next season, you will discover some new publications.

The web is just like that.  Just as each book author has a unique approach, so too, each webmaster has a unique approach.  What you write about gardening, or thoroughbred horses, or stock trading, is entirely different from what someone else would write.

You will create YOUR OWN website online.  That is an important phrase.

And a "WEBSITE"?   Absolutely. There is a sexy sound to the word "blog" (or so some people tell me).  But a "blog" is not a website.  The big difference as far as you are concerned is that a blog post goes away pretty quickly, and a website page sticks around forever.  That is a HUGE distinction.

When you write a page and post it as a blog, it will likely hit the search engines pretty fast, and may even rank well.  But as newer pages are written on the same keywords, your blog page will fall down, down, down in the rankings.  So ... when you create your own website online as a blog, in a few months you  will discover that there is nothing left of your efforts at all.

On the other hand, a web page will rise to the top more slowly, but it will remain a part of the "web pool" of information forever, or nearly so, climbing higher and higher in the search engine rankings.
