YES, DO IT!

As you probably noticed, the last few days have been a bit hectic in SBI. Brainstormer hiccupped. Then went on vacation.

True to form, the SBI crew flew into action. I can only imagine what the guys behind the scenes were doing. But I do know that Ken and crew kept us updated, and ....

... when the dust settled, we got some numbers that just blew my mind.

As Ken suggested, I re-ran my primary search. Ohmygoodness. It's not that I got back MORE keywords, which I did. But my "strong keyword" list grew by about 30%. That is just phenomenal.

So YES DO IT. Re-run your primary keyword. You'll be glad you did. (If it's not urgent, you might wait a day or two. BI is likely to be pretty busy today.)

But while you are waiting, take a moral boost break.

Mosey on over to alexa.com . In the box at the top enter your site url, with or without the "wwww". Click on the "Ranking" link. Your ranking comes back, with a little incomprehensible chart.

So scroll down. Keep on going. Way down. Yeah, there, at the bottom.

What the dickens are those numbers?

Well, this is your ranking by COUNTRY, not by world. My US ranking took me into the higher echelons of the world. And, thank you, Australia. I like you too.

This actually is a much more valid indication of how your site is doing. The fact that you don't compete well against Chinese sites isn't a big concern for most of us.

But ranking in the US and Canada and Australia and other English speaking areas is of concern.

So pat yourself on the back. You've done a whole lot better than you thought you did!
